Gather at 451 Grand Ave

April 14, 2015 marks the the 18th anniversary of the murder of Malik Jones by the East Haven Police, who chased him near his home and shot and killed him.

Malik’s mother, Emma Jones, has been fighting for justice over the last 18 years. On April 14, she will lead this march and meeting, and will be filing a lawsuit at the U.S. Supreme Court seeking justice for Malik. Multiple juries have agreed that the East Haven Police Department was responsible for the “wrongful death” of Malik, but the city of East Haven continues to appeal the case.

As activists in New Haven, across Connecticut and around the country have mobilized in the hundreds and thousands against racist police killings, police and governments have refused to give justice. Only a strong, united people’s movement is capable of getting the justice we demand and need.
Join the MALIK organization, ANSWER CT and People Against Police Brutality on April 14th for a rally, march and public meeting against police brutality and terror.

At 5:00PM, rally at 451 Grand Avenue in New Haven, near James Street.
At 5:30PM, march to downtown New Haven.
At 6:30PM, join a public meeting downtown (location will be announced shortly).
