Trump’s cabinet picks show he intends to impose a hard right-wing program on the people of the United States. Passively hoping for him to reverse course will not work. Relying on the same political establishment that led to his to now stop him is a lost cause. The people must be the alternative — with a powerful grassroots movement from below that stands up against war, racism, anti-immigrant scapegoating and Wall Street’s assault against workers’ living standards and the environment.
Real social change comes from the bottom, and not from the centers of institutional power, the professional politicians or the capitalist elites. From Day One of the incoming administration, this movement must announce itself to the whole world, loudly and visibly.
Millions of people feel entirely disenfranchised by a political system that delivered the least favorable and trusted candidates in U.S. history. Millions want a real political revolution.
On Inauguration Day, thousands will be in the streets to give voice to the millions of people in this country who are demanding systemic change. Won’t you join with us?
