After years of attacks on public schools, Betsy DeVos – Trump’s billionaire nominee for education secretary – represents a new stage of the offensive. Education historian Diane Ravitch has said that DeVos will become the most radical, anti-public-school education secretary since the position opened in 1867. Speakers to include: Speakers to include: Jonathan Pelto, Education commentator and creator of the blog “Wait, What?” and 2016 Green Party Congressional Candidate; Eric Bauer of Massachusetts Jobs with Justice, a major part of the recent successful campaign to stop a massive expansion of private charter schools through the question 2 ballot measure; A representative of the Hartford NAACP
