Part 1 we asked the question Where Have All The Peacenicks Gone when they are needed now more than ever. It seems everything except military spending will be offered up to the cutting board maybe even Grandma’s Social Security all in the name of defense and other ugly meanness that is beyond a decent persons comprehension.  Defense spending world wide is growing and growing as everyone is afraid of everyone else and we all want to make damn sure we can blow each other to hell and and guess what you may not be back. America already spends more on it’s military than the entire world put together why do they need to spend more.?  Check out this pie.

Last year, the United States spent more than $596 billion on the military, a total greater than the next six countries in the world combined. But the Republican-controlled Congress is looking to increase that number for next year. On Wednesday, the House passed its version of the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), allowing for $602 billion to be spent on the country’s defense in 2017, but the way the money is budgeted could mean that total military spending could actually end up being far higher.

I bet when the present regime in DC is done with it there will be crumbs in place of some of those slices.

We here like this pie better:

There really isn’t any need to say much more than this. Just please put peace on the agenda.

“What difference does it make to the dead, the orphans, and the homeless, whether the mad destruction is wrought under the name of totalitarianism or the holy name of liberty and democracy?” –The Mahatma Gandhi

Are you already against the next war? Damn right we are. All it takes is just one glance at the photo below and we know were we stand. We don’t care what cause people wrap murder in we stand against your murderous cause.

War is for losers, if you have nothing better to do with your life except to join a government killing machine, to kill your fellow man then you’re a loser, especially in this day and age, where the truth is freely available

Poverty in Amerikkka. Low on the priority list HIGH on ours.

During the candidates debate last year only one candidate spoke about poverty in the U.S. According to the 2014 census over 45 million amerikkkans are living in poverty. An exceedingly cruel GOP congress has slashed billions from food stamp programs and other programs designed to help the poor. A 2013 study linked 133,000 deaths a year due to poverty related sickness. But still no one wants to talk about it. The news media has shown very little interest, why should they the men and women behind the news are wealthy, the candidates for office in amerikkka, the appointees to posts within the new regime are wealthy and amerikkkan’s have been trained to resent those who are on the bottom. “Yes,” Emma Furbird says, “until they lose their jobs, their homes, and they sink into poverty and oh I never thought that this would happen to me shit takes over.” Buster most of you are living one paycheck to paycheck, with bills up the ying ying and still you want to look to the top. Well the top isn’t going to save you. Hell, fuck you, who cares, drop dead and there are many more to take your place ! In a generation or more you will be forgotten. You know man we don’t care a thing about you, or your kids as we are going to balance the budget by taking away from your table. Time to fight them yet, buster? Time to make such a mass movement that will push the top from their high place and make those crooked men straight. Time to bring them down to where they should be. But you know just maybe we won’t have to in the end, just maybe. Hope of hopes God will get sick and tired of them and throw them down from their high places. ( 2)

You know the following is disturbing: Nearly half of children in the United States live dangerously close to the poverty line, according to new research from the National Center for Children in Poverty (NCCP) at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. Basic Facts about Low-Income Children, the center’s annual series of profiles on child poverty in America, illustrates the severity of economic instability and poverty conditions faced by more than 31 million children throughout the United States. Using the latest data from the American Community Survey, NCCP researchers found that while the total number of children in the U.S. has remained about the same since 2008, more children today are likely to live in families barely able to afford their most basic needs.  Read more at:

Missy looked in her refrigerator and found that it was empty. No more empty refrigerators must be our cry.

from Still Hungry in America.

Food insecurity means an empty refrigerator. Food insecurity means soda instead of milk. Food insecurity means a child coming to school hungry and unable to focus.  It means living in a “Food Desert, paying higher prices at neighborhood corner stores. ( 3 ) It means running out of food by the end of the month and trying to live on $1.43 per meal per person. ( 4 ) Poverty may not look exactly the same in our country as it does in a war-torn region or a developing country, but it is affecting our children and their futures. Sometimes, working parents have to choose between rent and food, medicine and food, or gas and food. It means when you can’t make ends meet, that perhaps your family will experience homelessness. ( 5 )

( 1 ) The peace symbol is one of the most recognized symbols around the world. Its history begins in Britain, where it was designed by Gerald Holtom on February 21, 1958 to be used as a symbol against nuclear arms. The peace symbol debuted on April 4, 1958 at a Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War rally that marched from London to Aldermaston.

( 2 ) A Wonderful Promise.

The Magnificat-taken from Luke’s Gospel in the Christian New Testament is Mary’s hymn of praise to the Lord.

My soul magnifies the Lord
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior;
Because He has regarded the lowliness of His handmaid;
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed;
Because He who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is His name;
And His mercy is from generation to generation
on those who fear Him.
He has shown might with His arm,
He has scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and has exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
and the rich He has sent away empty.

and also from the Christian bible Jesus spoke these words: “Whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted” (Matt 23:12, also in slightly different words in Luke 18:14 and Luke 14:11).

( 3 ) The USDA considers a neighborhood a food desert if at least a fifth of the residents live in poverty and a third live more than a mile from a supermarket in urban areas, or more than 10 miles in rural areas, where residents are more likely to have cars. A lack of access to healthy foods contributes to health problems such as obesity and diabetes, research has shown. Some officials and “food system” folks say, that people who live in Connecticut’s urban food deserts can find fresh fruits and vegetables at smaller grocery shops and corner stores. But “The only option can’t be the corner store where too often prices are high and the food isn’t healthy.” In Connecticut,  Hartford, Bridgeport, and New Haven are considered “food deserts.” To our one large grocery store in Hartford the wealthy suburb of West Hartford has seven.

( 4 )How much is the average food stamp benefit?
On average, SNAP households currently receive about $255 a month. The average SNAP benefit per person is about $126 per month, which works out to about $1.40 per person per meal.
…and they shall be brought down from their high places:
Despite broad U.S public support for a strong safety net, the U.S Congress is telling Americans that the richest country on the planet can afford tax cuts to corporations but must tighten its belt by cutting the safety net programs that help vulnerable citizens. Legislators should not shrink budget deficits by increasing human misery and suffering, especially when one in eight Americans live in poverty.
( 5 )Homelessness hits LGBTQ youth rather hard: 110,000 LGBTQ youth in the U.S. are homeless. This is one of the most vulnerable homeless populations. A substantial number of young people who identify as LGBTQ say that they live in a community that is not accepting of LGBTQ people. In fact, LGBTQ youths make up 20% of runaway kids across the country. Family rejection, abuse, and neglect are major reasons LGBTQ youth end up on the streets. Additionally, homeless LGBTQ youth are substantially more likely than heterosexual homeless youth to be victims of sexual assault and abuse. LGBTQ homeless youth are twice as likely to commit suicide compared to heterosexual homeless youth. (How they know the exact number is beyond us)
On a single night in January 2015, 564,708 people were experiencing homelessness — meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or transitional housing program. Here let us go back to the opening pie and we will all realize what we have to do.
