Liudmyla Mykhailivna Pavlychenko (Russian: Людмила Михайловна Павличенко; July 12, 1916 – October 10, 1974) was a Red Army Ukrainian Soviet sniper during World War II. Credited with 309 kills, she is regarded as one of the top military snipers of all time and the most successful female sniper in history. She was not only honored in her homeland but in the UK, Canada, and the United States even touring with Eleanor Roosevelt.
