Protests will not prick the conscience of the unmasked beast called Donald Trump. Trump has no conscience to arouse, no shame to trigger, no remorse to cultivate. Trump is a full-frontal menace, that dangerous object in the mirror that is closer than it appears. It is the old threat, coming at us faster than before and from all directions at once. An unchained beast that will not be moderated by regulations, social conventions or appeals to common decency.”… Jeffrey St. Clair

“What better fate can a person carve out than participation in the emancipation of humanity? What better use to make of one’s life…? We look toward a time when we shall have ceased to mourn martyrs. A time when we are no longer occupied with explaining defeats and rising above betrayals. Not because we will have forgotten the past, but simply because we are so engrossed and fulfilled in the role of creating a world rich with freedom, plenty, humane relations between people, and the joy of living.”…Clara Fraser, May Day Speech 1960.

The smell of corruption is very pungent. The trick is to not let it stick to you…Hetty Wainthrope

“Don’t dare surrender, don’t throw away your life. Don’t back the leader’s wars, don’t believe their lies. Dare to struggle, and break off your chains. No War but Class War! No War but Class War!.. Leon Czolgosz

It seems to be the same old, same old, always something has to die, or some area is devastated just to give the citizens the chance to learn about or to see art. Do we use the final outcome as an excuse to forget or to sanitize the how? From death and destruction comes our art museums, libraries,  universities, churches, and all sorts of other things provided to us by the filthy rich. Do these practices of the wealthy pacify the people from questioning the why, and mitigate the crimes that have been committed, and are still going on here today with companies and business executives who are making millions on death and destruction. Art and murder funny bedfellows.

from Bessy Marie and Olga Do New London.

“As indigenists, as revolutionaries, we stand firm in our rejection of all heroes of empire and the distorted histories around them spun by both the forces of the colonial state and its loyal opposition among the so-called left”… Eaemaehkiw Thupaq Kesiqnaeh

“Class struggle is going on every day inside the working class. It’s time to choose where our class loyalty lies—with the proletariat or with its minders in the worker elite.”  Bromma in the Working Elite: Notes on the “Labor Aristocracy”

Most people with power hide behind the rainbow flag and figure out ways to oppress everyone else and get away with it. People ask me what the alternative is and I think the beginning of the alternative is to be able to articulate the horrible violence that is happening and not to conform to this sort of “Sweatshop produced rainbow flag” vision of normality… Mattilda Berstein Sycamore
