The mother of all bombs cost $314 Million. Yes that is for one. Let’s cut meals on wheels to pay for it. Oh wait we don’t spend that much to help take care of elderly people to make sure that each day they have food to eat and contact with the person who delivers their dinner. Don’t get us wrong we do not only worry about the monetary cost of war but of the cost to life.

We do not support war in any manner, shape or form. We are disgusted that amerikkka has dropped what they call the Mother of All Bombs and even more disgusted that they use mother in that context. Have they no shame? Wrong is wrong no matter who does it or says it. What could possibly be more immoral than war? It takes rather than gives. We at furbirdsqueerly commit ourselves to stand against the slaughter fest of war, the taking from the poor, the destroying of plants, animals, and other living creatures.  In the last few years we have seem beautiful civilizations crumble under war and war mongers. Thousands dead and more dying each day more and more people displaced from their homes living in refugee camps. This is wrong and we know it.

Wars and more wars, over and over again and again. We spoke out against the governments of Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush, Obama and certainly against the current mishap Trump. None of them were any good according to us. We marched, we prayed, we burned our draft card with the best of them, we swayed and sang songs for peace, we sat in, we got arrested, we got hit upside of our heads, jailed and tear gassed all for peace. We testified with thousands and we stood with one or two. Dorthy Day once said no matter how many join you this doesn’t matter, someone must always be testifying against war.

Image result for another mother for peace posterNo we can’t feed the poor, build housing, give an education, repair infrastructures, provide decent health care and a maximum wage to people. We have forgotten to promote the general welfare of all of our people and in doing so we leave so many behind. We must stop this anyway we can.
Finally we are putting peace back on the front burner. We have been calling for this and calling for this for months now. War never went away. We know from our other postings that the U.S. has been at war bombing countries for years now. No folks it wasn’t okay and everything wasn’t peaceful when Obama was the man. Now we have this crazy monster in DC surrounding himself with other crazy monsters beginning to pounce. Bombing Syria, (even Hillary got in the act calling for bombing 2 hours before the bombs dropped) using the Mother of All Bombs in Afghanistan, and provoking North Korea which may lead us down the path of real all and all destruction. Trumps new military budget calls for a 54 billion $ increase in military spending so where is the money going to come from? These folks are crooks, they will make a bundle on war and the preparing for war. They already have and will continue to make more. Meanwhile due to cuts in the budget Grandma will have a hard time making ends meet.
How do we stop this plague that has come upon amerikkka? Is there no stopping it?  One thing we can hope for that there is a special place in hell for those who have profited or are profiting from death and destruction. Defense stocks are top performers on Wall Street. ( 1 ) One thing we can hope for is that the people will rise up when they really realize what is happening. But usually the case is, when it is biting at my ass then I will do something about it. What bullshitters those folks are. How cruel. All it takes for us with every new war is a photo of one dead child murdered by this regime. This is worth far more than all of the little boo hoos that amerikkkans think are so important and will get in the streets over.

We like what artist Mike Alewitz has to say about this. These lines are from his posting Happy Tax Day. “Most of our tax dollars go to “defense.” (That’s another word for war). Trillions of dollars fund the slaughter of workers just like us, but from other countries. This is highly profitable, as the weapons-makers sell to all sides. In fact, the permanent war economy lies at the heart of ensuring the best super-profits for the US capitalist class.Which is why all the Democratic and Republican politicians, from Trump to Sanders, support the war industry.

As you relinquish your last few dollars, find solace in knowing that our blood and sweat has allowed wealthy parasites like Donald Trump to enjoy their lavish lifestyle without the inconvenience of having to take any responsibility for the millions of impoverished workers that created their treasure.

But here’s the best part – after they take a huge chunk of every paycheck, and make us pay national, state, local, property, vehicle and sales taxes; they send us a bit of change called a “tax return.”

We then get to walk around feeling like we got some free money.”

World Beyond War has this to say, “fractions of the proposed military budget could provide free, top-quality education from pre-school through college, end hunger and starvation on earth, convert the U.S. to clean energy, provide clean drinking water everywhere it’s needed on the planet, build fast trains between all major U.S. cities, and double non-military U.S. foreign aid rather than cutting it.” (Gee that sure sounds a heck of a lot better than all of this killing.) Where does the greatest support for war originates? The United States builds, sells, buys, stockpiles, and uses the most weapons, engages in the most conflicts, stations the most troops in the most countries, and carries out the most deadly and destructive wars. By these and other measures, the U.S. government is the world’s leading war-maker, and — in the words of Martin Luther King, Jr. — the greatest purveyor of violence in the world. Ending U.S. militarism would eliminate the pressure that is driving many other nations to increase their military spending. It would deprive NATO of its leading advocate for and greatest participant in wars. It would cut off the largest supply of weapons to the Middle East and other regions. (2)

Add a little charcoal or some type of smell barrier and we know several folks who could use a few pairs. Though you know we have always enjoyed the clearing a room aspect of a good loud smelly fart. Or remember those that were called silent but deadly? Those were the worse kind. No warning alarm to let us know next up will be_____. Just sneaked up on everyone and then the who did it game starts. Meanie’s will pick a person they don’t like and point at them, saying loudly, “My goodness Margie what have you been eating?”

The following is a longer version of a leaflet that we plan to pass out at the March 25 Equality Demonstration in Hartford Ct.

*Greetings to all who gather today*

Today as concerned queers we gather with others who oppose the regime in Washington DC. We gather to raise our concerns not only to this nation but to our community the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and allied.

Many years ago, when our movement was young we learned that as LGBTQ folks we were here, there and everywhere. We learned that as Queers in the Gay Liberation Front we could not survive unless we formed a united front with others who at that time were under attack. We fully understood that we must not only seek the liberation of our people but of all people and join with the movements around the world in solidarity and in fighting for liberation.  Later we learned from the great Black, poet, author, philosopher, teacher Audre Lorde when she said, “There is no such thing as a single issue, as we do not lead a single-issue life.”

If indeed we are here, there and everywhere we must stand in support of all causes that are represented here and all people who gather here today.

We stand for our Transgender Youth who are taking the first blows in our community from Jeff Sessions, Betsy De Vos and Donald Trump. We stand with our Trans sisters and brothers who are held in detention and terrorized by ICE. We support Sanctuary cites and an end to deportation. We support our Trans comrades in the front lines of fighting back no matter where they live. No Human is Illegal. Stop All Deportations!

We stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement and support our sisters and brothers in the struggle. We call for an end to Trump’s executive orders that expand the discretionary power of police enforcement which are a clear attack on freedom, justice and equality. These new polices are intended to further criminalize, imprison, and deny justice to the nation’s most targeted populations including people of color, people living below the poverty line, and LGBTQ people. We support full civilian review boards controlled by residents not the elected officials or police. We join with those who say, Racist Cops Out of Our Neighborhoods!

We stand with the immigrant community who are now at the end of amerikkka’s beating stick in what Trump has called a military operation. We offer full support to this community. Tell us what you need.  No More Deportations! Free our sisters and brothers in ICE custody.

We reject this regime’s war against the Muslim Community. We reject this administration modern day exclusion order. We don’t want to just put a pause on the ban—it needs to be thrown out entirely because of the way it targets Muslims—and only Muslims. Lift all bans! No racist, xenophobic ban! Re-enact the refugee settlement plans.

We stand for ending Climate Change and strengthen the rules and regulations that deal with this. What good will anything be if we do not have an earth to live on?

We stand for PEACE. We stand to put PEACE back on the front burner of our agenda. We can not only care about how this regime is affecting any of us but must remember that many others just like us around the world are now at the end of amerikkka’s military beating stick. We do not support war no matter what the powers that be tell us it is good for. Either you are for their slaughter fest or are against it! We stand against any war with Iran, North Korea, China or anywhere else that this government wishes to go push its weight around. We call for an end to the war against the people of Syria. We call for freedom for the people of Palestine.

We support animal rights. We once saw a sign that said, “Extend your circle of compassion.” That is our goal. We call for an end to unethical and inhumane practice of testing where animals such as dogs, rabbits, birds, mice, and monkeys are forced to comply with painful experiments. Some methods that take place during animal testing include: Pouring corrosive chemicals on their bare skin, Injecting chemicals into their eyes, repeatedly force fed large substances, Forced inhalation of toxic gases and other means of torture. We ask that the activists involved with this movement do what they can to lead and organize opposition to the abuse, and murder of animals.

We stand against the so called “religious freedom act” or sometimes disguised as The First Amendment Defense Act. This act allows and encourages discrimination against LGBTQ people. FADA prohibits the government from holding any business or person accountable for discriminating against LGBTQ people. Specifically, it would allow people and businesses to discriminate based on the beliefs that marriage is between one man and one woman, and sex should only happen within such a marriage.

We stand against a National Right to Work Law and see it as a continuing step to dismantling unions.  One of the most successful lies in modern US politics has been that of “right to work” laws, which break unions under the guise of protecting workers. Right to work laws already exist in more than half the states in the country, where unions are weak or nonexistent, wages are correspondingly low, and workers are correspondingly disposable. In theory, these laws are about guaranteeing workers’ freedom of association. In practice, they’re about keeping workers from forming unions, by making unions financially unsustainable.

We fully support Planned Parenthood, the right to reproductive freedom, free abortion on demand, maintaining Roe v. Wade, and for clinics providing health care to women be established in all states. Stop the war on Women!

We fully support the Affordable Care Act and call for expanding insurance coverage to all. We call for free health care for all. Stop Trump and his regime from dismantling the Affordable Care Act taking insurance from many of our people living with HIV/AIDS and leaving many in the Transgender Community without health care. Stop all deregulation of the FDA. No exposing patients to costly, ineffective, and potentially dangerous drugs. We must be allowed to import needed safe drugs from Canada.

We call for the removal of Donald Trump from office. But we cannot stop there for we know quite well that our dreams of justice and liberation must extend beyond simply a world where Trump is not President but everything else is the same. We call for the removal of his cabinet, of the white supremacists, KKK and Fascists who are working closely with him. We denounce them and seek justice by any means necessary.

We stand not so much for equality but for liberation. We ask who would want to be equal to a system that long ago we knew was a dirty rotten system, a system that enslaved, that committed genocide that denied rights to other americans, a system that our mothers and fathers had to fight hard to overcome. We stand against going back. We stand to go forward. We seek liberation from this system not assimilation into it. We seek to abolish the systems that marginalize, criminalize, imprison, and kill our people. We continue to build on the legacy of racial justice and liberation movements. We call for an end to Capitalism.

Notes to the LGBTQ Community

We as members of the LGBTQ community have been given a great burden. If we except the fact that we are here there and everywhere then it is up to us to prove it. We indeed do have the weight of the world on our shoulders. We must speak up when the drones fly and the bombs drop. We must speak up when people are rounded up by ICE, detained and then deported. We know full well from our stories what happens when authorities keep and use lists against communities. We know what it is like to be scapegoated and arrested under false pretenses. We know what it is like when we are denied, omitted, erased.  Our youth are still thrown out of their home by parents who will not accept them, many times in the name of religion. We have felt the sting of pain when our churches have called us immoral and have rallied against us from their pulpits. (more…)

I boycott Papa Johns and have ever since I discovered how homophobic and racist John Schnatter is. He is a 1%er who has earned his living off of the backs of poor workers barely earning minimum wage. He is a republican scumbag! Now where did we put that guillotine? I am sure there are millions that will untie the rope.

You know we were talking yesterday about all the levels that people are on, in this resistance to Trump and his regime and we say great keep it up, bring them all down, but remember that the old saying, “Tip them upside down they’re all the same applies to our government. We are never going to change anything if we keep going back and forth left, then right, left, then right. Mr. Leftie signs an Executive Order and Mr. Righty erases it and back and forth. We must get our heads together and figure out how to change this system not enable it in anyway. We seem to think that those who want to enable it are not on the end of the beating stick. We had a real knock down argument with a woman a few days ago. She said, “We must work for a democrat victory and if you don’t then you are to blame if Trump gets another term. My Goodness! This is why some of us can not be bothered with those way down there on the ladder. How many times over the years have we been told such rubbish? Too many to count. We have been protesting against every president for as long as we can remember. We have been at this for too long to go back now.  Remember it is our right to overthrow and change the government. We do not have to accept a two party system.

Yeah, yeah, yeah says Emma Furbird I would love to do just that but so much is in the way and so much must be done away with and I am old and tired and have been fighting for so many years now. But I suppose I will continue to fight, and maybe just maybe we will create an opening, poke at it until it pops, push and it will get bigger and the ball will start to role, in we will go. Now we just have to figure out how to go up against the man with all of the weapons, the crazy man who won’t give a shit about us and will use them. All ready there is talk coming out of DC that they will once again begin arming the local police with weapons that the pentagon isn’t using. So yes we must struggle for the dawn and know which side we are on even if they are a heck of a lot bigger than all of us and as Bessy Marie just said, “A hell of a lot meaner too, as remember we are full of peace and love.”

Anyway here is a wonderful update of the old Phil Ochs song, Love Me, I’m Liberal by Evan Greer. Listen up.

We also want to enter here a very beautiful song that will help to bring us through. The Good Fight by Evan Greer. Yes we will push beyond that gate.

and a wonderful song by Ryan Harvey. No we are not going to be a part of it.

Oh what a glorious day.

What would happen if the Trump administration really were to deport millions of undocumented workers from the US? Milwaukee, Wisconsin got a brief taste of that on Monday, the #DayWithoutLatinos. More than ten thousand people went on strike.

The sun was shining and the streets of Milwaukee, on the frigid shores of Lake Michigan, were full of demonstrators. More than 150 businesses shut their doors on Monday as part of the #DayWithoutLatinos. The Wisconsin non-profit Voces de la Frontera organized the protest together with Muslim and anti-racist organizations. Undocumented immigrants play an enormous role in Wisconsin’s economy, especially in the state’s dairy industry.

This is so true: The Milwaukee protest shows part of the way forward for the resistance against Trump: Workers withdrawing their labor  power and collectively shutting down the economy. The left and the workers’ movement – including all the immigrant workers – needs to urgently discuss how we can advance towards a general strike across the country.

Note: We hope that actions such as these spread. We have already read about what is happening in the fields with no one to pick the vegetables.
